My Nighttime Skincare Routine

Ever wanted to know how I prep my skin for eight hours of gentle slumber? Probably not, but well, here we are. Keep reading to find out the optimum steps for superb skin balance.

To give a little more context, I’m a man in his thirties with typically normal skin — bordering on oily and dull after travel or changing weather.

Double Cleanse 1/2

Every night, I start by removing all of my makeup with Bioderma Sensibio H2O Cleansing Water. It is the best way to get all your makeup off while also being gentle on your skin.

Double Cleanse 2/2

Next up, it's time for Vanicream Gentle Facial Cleanser – this cleansing cream is specifically formulated for sensitive skin types. This cleanser has been a lifesaver in my skincare routine - it gets rid of dirt and impurities without leaving my face feeling tight or irritated.

Eyes

Once I'm done washing my face, it's time to use one of two retinol based products, depending on what I see as the biggest concern on that particular evening. Do not, I repeat do not even think about using more than one of these at a time or you’ll melt your face off.

Choice A: Root It Out

Differin Adapalene Gel 0.1% Acne Treatment – this product is a lifesaver for anyone who suffers from acne! It works by targeting the root cause of breakouts, and it's been a game changer in my skincare routine.

Choice B: Reduce

A313 Vitamin A Pommade – this cream is perfect for anyone who is looking to reduce the appearance of dark spots or sun damage. It's enriched with nourishing ingredients that help to hydrate your skin while also lightening any discoloration.

Repair

Finally, I finish off my nighttime skincare routine with La Roche-Posay Cicaplast Balm – this product helps to replenish lost moisture in your skin and protect it from environmental aggressors. I love that this moisturizer also has anti-inflammatory properties which help to soothe any redness or irritation.

Now that I'm done with my nighttime skincare routine, it's time for bed! I hope this article has been helpful in providing you with an idea of how to properly care for your skin at night. Remember, cleansing, moisturizing, and using products specifically designed for your skin type are all important steps in keeping your skin looking its best. So make sure you follow these tips every night - I promise you won't regret it! 💗
