Rediscover Yourself in Spain
Let me know if this sounds familiar: After years of working in corporate environments, you're exhausted and fed up with it all. The endless meetings, the dull conversations, the meaningless emails: they are slowly draining away your passion and your enthusiasm for life in general. It's time to make a change.
You want something different; something that provides sunshine and warmth – physically and figuratively.
As your doctor specializing in pseudo-prescriptions for all your existential woes, let me suggest Spain. Spain is known for its culture-rich cities like Madrid, Barcelona and Seville, as well as its sunny beaches and picturesque villages. Maybe the idea of Valencia calls to you – a city of sun-soaked plazas and deep blue skies – or perhaps San Sebastian with its picturesque surroundings. The thought of being able to live in either of those places might seem too good to be true; too far from what you’ve been used to. I'm going to make the case for why you should take the leap.
This past summer, I made the Iberian peninsula my home for a while. For six weeks, Madrid became my base as I explored Spain’s other cities and towns. From Barcelona to Seville and beyond, each place had something unique about it that made me feel alive in a way that I hadn’t for some time. The locals were incredibly hospitable and open-minded; welcoming me into their culture with open arms and introducing me to the best spots in town. One thing they all had in common was the appreciation of good food – from traditional tapas dishes to modern fusion cuisine. Through my travels, I discovered a new side to myself – one that appreciated the simpler things in life like good food, meaningful conversations and incredible scenery. It was also an eye-opening experience that taught me how to live more sustainably and efficiently; something which has stayed with me since. The sun may have set on my Spanish adventure for now, but it's just about time for you to start yours. Read on to find out where to start your adventure.
